Modern Cyprus. The Land of Alašiya was one of the territories involved in the piracy activities committed by Madduwatta (Indictment of Madduwatta, CTH 147 §36). In the text the Hittite king Arnuwanda I accuses his vassal to have perpetrated raids against Alašiya, country subjectet to Hatti, in league with Attaršiya, Man of Ahhiya, and the Man of Piggaya.
