Atpa was governor of Millawanda and son-in-law of Piyamaradu. He took part with Piyamaradu to the rape of the SARIPUTU men belonging to the King of Hatti from Lazpa; he released them just in consequence of the diplomatic request of Kupanta-Kurunta, prince of Mira. In the “Tawagalawa’s Letter” he is held responsible for giving shelter to Piyamaradu and furthermore for allowing him to flee in the Ahhiyawa Land rather than committing him to the King of Hatti.
